I was reading Ann Voskamp’s book, The Broken Way, on my honeymoon. It was resonating deeply within me. The reason I thought it was hitting home was because of the book I was about to launch. In The Broken Way, Ann speaks of lament and drops of truth ooze off every page. Little did I know my husband and I would receive a phone call on our honeymoon informing us that my biological father had passed away.
It’s a surreal feeling — to be experiencing one of the highest of highs, and within minutes, experience a significant low. I appreciate Ann letting me write about this experience as we all learn to not live in a place of unspoken broken.
Unspoken broken keeps our hearts in chains.
Not Faking Fine gives us assurance that there are gifts still to be found on the broken way.
